I had a great meal out with parents tonight. It was lovely and relaxed. Of course the restaraunt, Nick's Warehouse had to be right beside the gay area. I had a brief moment of grrr where my parents traditional views and mine split. But I held my tongue.

The cake increased in size this year! But we had a shape change instead. It went oval.

Not much else happened today apart from finally crossing the high wire on wii fit!

Something my granddad used to say every birthday:
Today being my birthday, 10 000 pounds I have to give away, but I think I will put it back in my chest and keep it for a rainy day

My parents succeeded in making me choke up this morning. The large portion of their present was a contribution towards the cost of my around the world trip, I hadn't been expecting it at all. Know I really know they are behind this decision. The other bits were the first survival things for the trip:

Undies and a guide book which is strangely perfect.

The post yesterday brought me presents and cards from Newcastle under and over! I have cute accessories for the trip and messages which make me miss them.

Tonight I am going out for dinner with my parents.

The big surprise will be the cake. It has been getting smaller and smaller every year. This year it should be around the size of a cupcake!

During my second driving lesson today, I decided to place a curse on all right hand turns. They are made of evil especially when they are out onto busy main roads. grrrrr, roundabouts seems like a dream compared to them.

But my mood brightened when I came home. There were two parcels and a birthday card waiting for me. Of course the huge temptation is to open the presents -now- instead of waiting until tomorrow

Frantic packing and photo packing is going on so I can grab another of hours with Kerry.

It has been a busy fun weekend. Capped last night with going to see Mama Mia in the cinema and practically a week late a birthday cake! Now the other year I thought we had a small cake...this is turning into a running joke now:

The blade is longer than the cake! We all managed a mouthful before it was gone.

Katherine produced one of the maddest parts of presents ever - cat grass! Do not know what the kitten is going to make of it

Well I am back in Northern Ireland and for once it isn't raining! It is shockingly sunny. I've been around the shops (there wasn't much to see) and I've arranged to meet people including Kerry tonight. But it does feel weird being back. There is definitely a big difference between here and Newcastle and it isn't just the accent.

My birthday was randomly cool, we went chasing Roman ruins and had a big dinner out with parents, Will and [info]falcons_honour. It was a really funny night out and the strawberry daiquris tasted great

Will's been keeping me in the dark for weeks about what is going to happen this weekend. Finally, last night he revealed the details. We are going to the British Grand Prix for the Saturday and the Sunday! I seriously can't believe my luck! We are travelling down on the Friday afternoon and hoteling it. So thankfully I will get to see Doctor Who on Saturday night.

It feels great considering I've been watching Formula One for about thirteen years now!
