It is hard to believe that he is reported dead. If he is dead I feel oddly sympathetic for him. I grew up with him being a popular singer and there were years of liking before the more sordid details came out.

Terry Pratchett was on the bbc news this morning talking about alzheimer's. It was sad to watch, there was an evident change in him. He had to pause looking for words and you could see the frustration in his eyes. There were things he's pointed out that have come more difficul for him, like touch typing and spelling. He plans to keep on with his writing though.

It is impressive to see how he is facing what will happen.
